Instagram has become a vast, ever-evolving mood board that can sometimes feel like sensory overload. Still, there’s inspiration to be found in the lesser-known corners of the PLA-tform-net.

The sheer volume of fashion content on social media is, quite simply, overwhelming. Celebrity and fashion stars’ Instagram accounts (Chiara Ferragini, Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo, Emma Chamberlain etc.), with millions of followers are shaping today’s fashion landscape, fuelling our desire to follow trends and spend accordingly. In fact, many luxury brands now sell as many – if not more – items through Instagram as they do in physical stores.

Yet beyond the spotlight of high-profile accounts, countless individuals across the globe are sharing snapshots of their unique personal style. Every day, people post images of themselves mixing bold fabrics, flaunting logos, or dressing in ways that make them feel powerful—regardless of their size, shape, or background. Below comes a list of my current top 6 fashion muses I recommend following to feed your fashion creativity.

Courtney Trop (@alwaysjudging)

Courtney Trop, the visionary behind the blog Always Judging, has established a unique presence in the fashion world with a style that boldly breaks the mold and celebrates individuality. Based in Los Angeles, she’s recognized for her daring fashion sense, effortlessly mixing luxury labels with vintage treasures and streetwear essentials to craft looks that are both cutting-edge and deeply personal.

@alwaysjudging

She describes her current vibe as “swamp-fairy-grunge with a graceful attitude” – a phrase that perfectly captures her imaginative and trend-defying approach to dressing. And that is exactly what draws me to her aesthetics the most. Her ensembles often feature surprising pairings, like corsets layered over oversized tees, Miu Miu platforms teamed with worn-in denim, or neon nails that act as statement accessories. She’s a true artist when it comes to layering textures and silhouettes, creating outfits that feel both intentional and instinctive.

Trop’s influence goes beyond just clothing. Her meticulous eye for detail shines through in her beauty choices, especially her bold, mismatched, and often trendsetting manicures. Accessories play a key role in her wardrobe too – think standout earrings, coveted designer bags, and unforgettable outerwear, all selected with a flair for drama and design. What truly sets her apart is her authenticity. Rather than following trends, she reinterprets them in her own way, making her a genuine fashion shapeshifter.

Laila Lindqvist (@laluuna)

Laluuna, the online persona of Laila Lindqvist, is a Helsinki-based fashion influencer, photographer, and stylist celebrated for her inventive and sustainable approach to style. Her fashion philosophy embraces a harmonious blend of masculine and feminine elements, often combining oversized silhouettes with delicate accessories to create balanced and expressive outfits. Lindqvist draws inspiration from intuitive feelings, nature, and vintage aesthetics, frequently layering garments in unconventional ways – such as pairing trousers beneath dresses – to craft looks that are both nostalgic and refreshingly modern.

A strong advocate for second-hand fashion, she sources most of her wardrobe from thrift shops and flea markets, valuing the stories and sustainability behind each piece. Her creative process often involves spontaneous experimentation, finding unexpected outfit combinations by juxtaposing clothing items in her wardrobe. Beyond fashion, Lindqvist’s work as a photographer allows her to capture the interplay of light, texture, and emotion, further enriching her visual storytelling. Collaborations with brands like Marimekko and Kalevala Jewelry highlight her influence in the Finnish fashion scene, where she continues to inspire with her commitment to authenticity, creativity, and mindful living.

Linn Eklund (@linneklund)

Linn Eklund’s fashion style is a vibrant expression of personality, playfulness, and polished unpredictability. As a Swedish fashion influencer and stylist, she’s known for her bold use of colour, languid tailoring, and fearless layering. Her outfits often feature a mix of structured blazers, statement blouses with ruffles or prints, and wide-leg trousers – all styled in a way that feels both editorial and effortlessly wearable. Linn’s approach to fashion is rooted in contrast: she balances androgynous tailoring with feminine touches, like pairing a classic suit and tie with oversized earrings or a dramatic skirt that turns heads at any event.

@linneklund

What sets her apart is her ability to make every outfit feel like a celebration. Whether she’s at work, skiing in the Alps, or out with friends, her looks always reflect her inner world – calm yet expressive, grounded yet daring. She often describes her style as an extension of her personality: composed but with a surprise element, “an ace up the sleeve.” Accessories, especially jewellery, play a key role in her styling, often used to add emotional depth or spark conversation. For Linn, fashion isn’t just about aesthetics – it’s about storytelling, confidence, and living as if every day were fashion week.

Angelica Hicks (@angelicahicks)

Angelica Hicks is a British fashion illustrator and internet personality known for her witty and satirical takes on the fashion world. Her fashion style is a delightful fusion of satire, surrealism, and DIY ingenuity. As both an illustrator and fashion content creator, she has carved out a niche by transforming everyday household items into uncanny replicas of high-fashion and red carpet looks. Angelica’s style is not just about what she wears, but how she reimagines fashion itself – turning bedsheets into bubble skirts, dry-cleaning covers into lapels, and even gummy candies into couture buttons. This playful, performative approach is rooted in her background in art history and illustration, where visual wit and cultural commentary are central themes.

@angelicahicks

Beyond her viral recreations, Hicks’ personal wardrobe reflects a love for clashing prints, vintage silhouettes, and unexpected accessories. She often mixes loud patterns with ladylike staples, grounding her looks with classic pieces like jeans or a crisp white blouse. Her outfits are maximalist yet thoughtful, often incorporating sustainable or upcycled garments from independent designers. Whether she’s wearing a shirt made from old Austrian curtains or styling leopard print as a neutral, Hicks brings a sense of humour and storytelling to every ensemble.

Laura Tønder (@coutureculten)

Laura Tønder, the creative mind behind Couturekulten and founder of Kettel Atelier, brings a refreshing blend of whimsy and intention to the fashion scene. Hailing from Denmark, she’s known for her bold, expressive style that seamlessly fuses vintage flair with contemporary cool. Her wardrobe is a joyful mix of textures, colours, and silhouettes – think oversized tailoring, unexpected layering, and a fearless approach to accessorizing. Tønder’s outfits often feel like wearable mood boards, reflecting her intuitive sense of style and love for experimentation.

But Laura’s influence goes beyond aesthetics. Through Kettel Atelier, she champions sustainability by transforming vintage and leftover fabrics into unique, handcrafted pieces. Her use of patchwork and textile collage isn’t just a design choice – it’s a statement about creativity, resourcefulness, and conscious consumption. What makes her stand out is her ability to make fashion feel both personal and impactful. Whether she’s sharing styling tips or showcasing her latest designs, Tønder encourages others to embrace their individuality and rethink how clothes are made and worn.

Leandra Medine Cohen (@leandramcohen)

Leandra Medine Cohen’s fashion style is a masterclass in eclecticism, wit, and unapologetic individuality. Known for her ability to mix high fashion with everyday practicality, her outfits often feature unexpected pairings – like a silk tie worn with a casual army jacket and designer boots, or a belted coat styled over leggings with statement shoes. She embraces contradictions: black and brown worn together, neutrals layered with bold accessories, and outerwear combinations that defy seasonal logic, such as a canvas hat paired with a winter coat.

@leandramcohen

Her style philosophy is rooted in the idea that fashion should be fun, expressive, and deeply personal. She often plays with proportions, textures, and vintage references, creating looks that are both editorial and wearable. Accessories are a key part of her signature: quirky brooches, sculptural jewellery, and unexpected hats elevate even the simplest outfits. Leandra’s approach is less about following trends and more about curating a wardrobe that tells a story, often with a touch of irony or humour.
